Investigation underway after Lakewood police shoot someone Friday afternoon

Lakewood police shot and injured a person Friday.

The officer-involved shooting occurred about 4 p.m. in the 6400 block of Steilacoom Boulevard.

The injured person was taken to an area hospital.

His condition was not immediately known.

No officers were injured.

Detectives have not released information about what led up to the shooting or how many officers were involved.

The Cooperative Cities Crime Response Unit is investigating the incident.
