Father uses shotgun to kill his son, Puyallup police say

A 76-year-old Puyallup man allegedly shot his son dead Thursday afternoon, police say. The suspect is in custody.

Puyallup police say the public is not danger.

The shooting occurred inside a residence in the 2700 block of 9th Avenue SW. Police responded immediately after the 3 p.m. shooting, Puyallup Police Capt. Dan Pashon said.

Police performed CPR on the 32-year-old victim inside the home. He died at the scene from shotgun injuries, Pashon said.

Police talked the suspect into leaving the house. He was taken into custody without incident.
