Body of hiker missing in Mount Rainier National Park found near Paradise

The body of a hiker missing since June has been found in the Paradise area of Mount Rainier National Park.

Talal Sabbagh, 27, of Seattle, disappeared June 21 while hiking at Paradise, according to park officials.

He was reported missing the following day, and his car was found in a Paradise parking lot.

On Monday, Sabbagh’s body was found in an off-trail drainage near Paradise.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine how he died.

More than seven search teams scoured the area for Sabbagh in the days after he went missing but could not find any sign of him.

Another hiker who went missing the same week in the Longmire area, Vincent Djie, has still not been found.

Djie, a 25-year-old Indonesian student living in Seattle, was last seen hiking the Van Trump Trail toward Mildred Point.
