Woman found on Puyallup porch with gunshot wound, police say

A 32-year-old woman was taken to an area hospital after she suffered a gunshot wound early Sunday morning, according to Puyallup police.

The woman’s injuries were thought to be life-threatening, Capt. Dan Pashon said Sunday.

About 5 a.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of 15th Avenue Southeast after a report of a person screaming and pounding on the door of the house at that address. Multiple gunshots were reportedly heard in the area, according to police.

Once police arrived, they found the woman on the porch with a gunshot wound. She was also the person who had been pounding on the door, Pashon said.

The female resident of the house called police, but she is not a suspect in the shooting, he said.

“We’re not quite sure what happened,” Pashon said. “The trail kinds of ends at the street.”

Police do not have a suspect or vehicle description. Pashon said detectives were canvassing the area for possible video of the incident.
