Semi-truck rollover closes northbound I-5 ramp to I-705 in Tacoma; traffic diverted
A semi-truck overturned on a ramp from northbound Interstate 5 to northbound Interstate 705 ramp in Tacoma on Friday morning, causing lanes to close.
Emergency crews responded to the scene for an injury, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Ryan Burke on Twitter.
Joe Meineke, Tacoma Fire spokesman, says the department received a call about the incident around 9 a.m. Friday morning. Meineke says two passengers in the semi were injured in the accident. They have been transported to an area hospital and are in stable condition.
Traffic has been rerouted to state Route 7 extension until the road can be cleared. Meineke says the tow and clean-up are being handled by the Washington State Patrol.
