Several brush fires have closed SR 512 at I-5 in Lakewood
Multiple brush fires have popped up near the state Route 512 and Interstate 5 interchange in Lakewood.
The first fire in the area was reported about 12:40 p.m. along SR 512 but quickly jumped the highway and began burning on both sides.
All ramps to and from SR 512 to I-5 are closed, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
SR 512 lanes could also close as firefighters from both West Pierce Fire and Central Pierce Fire battle the blazes.
