A Safeway supermarket in the Summit area near Puyallup was evacuated for a time Saturday morning after a possible gas leak. Video of the scene showed Central Pierce Fire & Rescue responded to the incident.

A store manager said business had since returned to normal at the supermarket.

The Safeway located near Canyon Road East and 116th Street East was evacuated Saturday, store manager River Herzog confirmed. The manager declined to comment further and provided no details about the cause of the evacuation.

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue did not immediately respond to requests for more information about the incident.
