Crews extinguish house fire in Tacoma

A fire partially burned an unoccupied home in Tacoma on Wednesday morning as fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

Crews from Tacoma Fire Department responded about 6:15 a.m. to the fire in the 3800 block of Ainsworth Avenue after nearby residents reported seeing flames coming from a structure, Assistant Fire Chief Chris Johnson said.

Arriving crews reported seeing flames showing from the back of the house, Johnson said. The fire was knocked down just before 7 a.m.

No one was injured in the fire, Johnson said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
