Former Kent police commander Hollis is named Lacey’s deputy police chief
Robert Hollis is Lacey’s new deputy police chief, the city announced.
He was sworn in last week by Chief Robert Almada. The announcement follows a nationwide search and selection process that included the participation of multi-discipline panel members, community members, and stakeholders, according to the city.
Hollis is the second deputy chief in the department’s 55-year history. His annual salary will be $159,700.
Hollis has worked in law enforcement for more than 20 years, including most recently at the Kent Police Department where he served as a commander in charge of race, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
“We welcome him as a new community member and look forward to the integral role he will play in our city,” Chief Almada said in a statement.
Hollis earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Washington.
“I am excited for the opportunity to be part of the Lacey Police Department,” said Hollis in a statement. “And I look forward to serving the Lacey community.”
