What public offices are open, closed on Christmas eve in Tacoma and Pierce County
Many public offices may be closed Friday in observance of Christmas. Check this list to see what will be open and what will be closed.
City of Tacoma: Offices are closed Friday.
Tacoma Public Utilities: Closed on Friday. Offices reopen Monday.
Tacoma Public Libraries: All library branches are closed Friday and Saturday.
Pierce Transit: Buses will run on a Sunday schedule on Christmas Eve and will run on a Saturday schedule on Christmas.
Sound Transit: The Sounder train will not operate on Christmas Eve or Christmas. On Friday, the 1 Line, T Line and ST Express bus will operate on a Sunday Schedule. On Saturday, the 1 Line and ST Express bus will operate on a normal schedule, and the T Line will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Banks: Banks in the Federal Reserve will be open Friday, although some may close early. Check with your branch for exact hours.
Post offices: Some United States Postal Service offices have extended hours Friday, while others may have limited hours. Check with your local post office to find exact hours. Mail will be delivered as usual Friday. Post offices will be closed Saturday.
Washington State Department of Licensing Offices: Offices in Tacoma and Puyallup will be open Friday and closed Saturday. The office in Parkland will be closed Friday and Saturday.
Pierce County Government: Most offices will be closed Friday.
Pierce County Library System: Closed Friday and Saturday.
Puyallup City Hall: Closed on Friday.
Puyallup Public Library: Closed on Friday and Saturday.
City of Lakewood: City offices close at 3 p.m. Thursday and will be closed Friday.
Lakewood Police Department: Administrative offices will be closed Friday. Offices will reopen Monday.
University Place City Hall: City hall closes at noon Thursday and will be closed Friday.
Bonney Lake Municipal Court: Closed on Friday.
Sumner City Hall: Closed on Friday and Monday.
Buckley City Hall: City Hall closes at noon Thursday and will be closed Friday.
