Update: 4-year-old, teen injured Thursday night after crash in downtown Tacoma

A 4-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-car crash in Tacoma on Thursday night. Police initially reported the girl died.
The Tacoma Police Department responded to a crash on Delin Street between Tacoma Avenue and Wright Avenue around 8:30 p.m.
A 19-year-old man driving northbound on Delin Street hit the overpass wall above Interstate 5, Tacoma police spokesperson Wendy Haddow said.
The driver was arrested for vehicular assault but released to a hospital for his injuries.
Impairment is suspected, Haddow said.
Police advised the public to use alternate routes as they cleared the road. Delin Street was closed for three hours.
