One found dead after fire breaks out in Tacoma home
One person was found dead Friday after a house fire broke out at a Tacoma home in the area of North 26th Street and Rosemount Way.
Tacoma Fire Department personnel responded to the fire around 5:30 p.m.
“The fire was burning pretty significantly when we got there,” TFD spokesperson Joe Meinecke said.
The house was three stories and the fire was spreading up the side of the house. The person inside was found once the structure was knocked down and TFD was able to conduct a search.
Fire crews determined the cause of the fire came from an electrical wire malfunction.
The victim was an adult occupant of the home. More information will be released in the coming days by the Pierce County Medical Examiner.
Meinecke said the victim was Tacoma’s fourth fire fatality in 2021.
