Watch a test flight for a zero-emissions aircraft in Pierce County
ZEVA AERO, a startup based in Tacoma, Washington, executed the first successful test flight of its zero-emissions, electricity-powered aircraft in Pierce County on Jan. 9.
The team ran several test flights of the ZEVA ZERO aircraft without a crew, totaling more than four minutes of controlled hovering, simulated taxiing maneuvers at slow speeds, and limited vertical maneuvers.
The electricity-powered aircraft is built to crew a single person and projected to cruise at speeds of up to 160 mph with a range of up to 50 miles, according to ZEVA AERO’s website.
