It’s still February, so cold temperatures in the South Sound aren’t going away anytime soon, but at least the sun sets a bit later in the afternoon. Right?
After a relatively mild run of weather last week, temperatures will drop, especially overnight. Snow is expected to fall in the mountains through Sunday. Heavy snowfall is expected beginning Saturday evening with “convergence zone activity” over the Cascades, according to the National Weather Service.

It will be mostly cloudy on Presidents’ Day, and there may be a chance of rain and snow showers. Little to no snow accumulation is expected, according to the National Weather Service.
Tuesday and Wednesday will bring a high in the upper 30s. Thursday may bring a slight chance of snow showers, but it will be partly sunny and in the 40s by afternoon.
Temperatures will moderate by the end of the week, with Friday bringing some sun with a high of 45 degrees.
