Police said the driver was traveling north on Pacific Avenue in the curbside lane when the pedestrian crossed from the south side of 72nd Street and was struck.

TPD spokesperson, officer Shelbie Boyd, said police spoke to the driver and are continuing to investigate. She did not know if the driver was cited. Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.

The intersection and nearby blocks of Pacific Avenue were closed for several hours while police investigated.
