Tacoma police are investigating a fatal Saturday collision that killed a pedestrian
Tacoma police responded Saturday to a fatal collision in the city’s central neighborhood that killed a pedestrian.
The dispatch call came in at 6:43 p.m., said police spokesperson Wendy Haddow. The pedestrian, an adult male who has not yet been identified, crossed South Sprague Avenue in the 1700 block, but did not use a crosswalk, and was hit by a car.
The driver is a 31-year-old man, Haddow said Saturday. Police have “no indication at this time that speed or impairment were involved” in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
