Saturday night crash injures four people, blocks Puyallup’s busiest street for hours
A multi-car crash injured four people in Puyallup Saturday night, and closed sections of the city’s busiest street for hours.
The dispatch call came at 9:37 p.m. Officers responded to a reported crash involving multiple vehicles in the 2500 block of South Meridian, according to a statement from police. That section of the road climbs up from the Washington State Fairgrounds toward South Hill.
Officers found one vehicle on fire at the scene, and others that were damaged. One injured person was prone in the northbound lane of Meridian. Four people were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Their condition was still unclear Sunday morning, a police spokesperson said.
Officers shut down the road in both directions for several hours. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
