Work will be done on two Pierce County bridges. Here’s how you can avoid traffic

You might want to avoid two bridges in East Pierce County next week to get to your destination in time.

One bridge is in Graham and the other is in Buckley.

The Graham bridge is situated east of 41st Avenue East and crosses South Creek on 304th Street East.

The detour route for the Graham bridge will bring drivers south on state Route 7, west on state Route 702 and north on 8th Ave.

The Buckley bridge is south of 278th Avenue East and crosses the Puget Sound Energy Canal on Sumner-Buckley Highway East.

Both bridges will be closed for resurfacing.

Crews will work on the Graham bridge from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 6-7. Crews will be at the Buckley bridge at the same time on June 7-8. The work is weather dependent.

A detour route will be in place for the Graham bridge – it will bring drivers south on state Route 7, west on state Route 702 and north on 8th Avenue East.

The detour route for the Buckley bridge will bring drivers south on Mundy Loss Road East, west on state Route 410 and north on 214th Avenue East.
