Location, time change for Fort Steilacoom Park meeting
The city of Lakewood has moved a public meeting about a possible performance area planned for tonight at Fort Steilacoom Park to its City Hall.
The meeting time has also changed from 5:30 p.m. to 6p.m.
The decision to move the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting was weather related, according to a release from the city.
The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers, 6000 Main St. SW.
This is the first meeting the parks advisory board has held in almost a year since it explored the possibility of adding an amphitheater to the 340-acre park.
The amphitheater proposal is off the table, but members of the Rotary Club of Lakewood have pledged $300,000 to build a public gathering or performance space in the park.
