Power outage hits Northeast Tacoma neighborhoods — cause unclear, repairs underway
A power outage hit Northeast Tacoma Sunday, reportedly affecting more than 1600 customers.
An online statement from the utility said “several outages” were reported, starting at 10:13 a.m. A map on TPU’s website marked the boundaries, stretching from Norpoint Way to the southern corner of Dash Point State Park. The cause is under investigation.
Utility crews were working Sunday afternoon to solve the problem, and customers reported sporadic flickers of power. The utility estimated that power would be restored by 3:30 p.m. The utility subsequently reported that all power had been restored by 1:15 p.m.
