Fire breaks out at mobile home in Graham, destroying family’s residence

A fire broke out Tuesday morning at a mobile home in Graham that destroyed a family’s residence, fire department officials said. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were dispatched to the fire at about 7:55 a.m. in the 14500 block of 245th Street East, according to Graham Fire & Rescue. When crews arrived about 10 minutes later, the fire had spread throughout the mobile home.

It’s unclear where the fire started or what caused it. The Pierce County fire marshal is investigating.

Fire department spokesperson Brianna Baker said two adults escaped the residence by the time crews arrived. It’s unclear if others lived there. A Red Cross team was activated to provide emergency assistance, according to a tweet from the organization.

Twelve fire-suppression units were dispatched, Baker said. She said the flames largely were contained to the residence and no vehicles or other structures appeared to be damaged. Crews were working on clean up at about 10:30 a.m.
