Tacoma Mayor Woodards will deliver State of the City on March 16. Here’s how to attend
Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards will focus on community safety, affordable housing and homelessness, and the city’s ongoing recovery from the pandemic in the State of the City address March 16.
This year’s theme is “Building Tomorrow Together.”
The event is free, but attendees must register in advance and are recommended to do so by 3 p.m. Friday.
The address starts at 6:30 p.m at the Mount Tahoma High School Auditorium, 4634 S. 74th St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Parking is available. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The State of the City can be viewed live on TV Tacoma or tvtacoma.com and on Facebook Live at facebook.com/cityoftacoma.
There will be an American Sign Language interpreter at the address. The program can be accessed via Zoom with interpretation in Spanish, Vietnamese and American Sign Language.
The State of the City address will be co-emceed by Andrea Reay, the president and CEO of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, and Tara Zolfaghari, the vice chair of the mayor’s youth commission.
At last year’s State of the City, Woodards focused on public safety and violent crime, the continued recovery from COVID, affordable housing and homelessness and anti-racism transformation efforts.
