Dreary, wet weather ahead for Tacoma area with chances for snow, forecasters say
The dreary, gray and wet weather in the Tacoma area isn’t expected to go anywhere soon. According to the National Weather Service, rain is predicted throughout the weekend and into much of next week, with some overnight chances for snow.
An offshore weather system is bringing showers to Western Washington that will continue Saturday night, with temperatures that could bring some snowfall, the NWS said. It’s unlikely any snow will stick, and the flakes are expected to turn to rain by Sunday morning.
More rain is expected Sunday, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation all day. Forecasts predict it will be partly sunny, with a high temperature near 46 degrees. More clouds will move in Sunday evening.
Colder temperatures are predicted each morning going into next week, generally with lows in the low- to mid-30s, according to the NWS. The coldest it will get should be Sunday night into Monday with possible low temperatures in the upper 20s.
Forecasts say South Sounders will see partly sunny days Monday through Friday, but scattered rain is predicted each day, particularly in the mornings and evenings. More overnight snow is possible, but little or none of it is expected to stick.
Temperature lows through mid-week are forecast in the low-30s, with highs predicted in the upper-40s.
