Power outage affecting hundreds on Key Peninsula

A power outage is affecting hundreds of customers on the Key Peninsula on Tuesday afternoon.

Peninsula Light Co. reported that 491 customers had no electricity in the initial outage. Of those, 173 had their power back on by 5 p.m.

The main outage area appears to be south of Vaughn and west of Key Center. Peninsula Light said the area centered on Lackey Road.

Tacoma outages

Tacoma Public Utilities said about 45 customers were without power Tuesday afternoon in six separate incidents across their service area. In the outages where a cause was listed, trees falling on power lines were to blame.
