Update, April 3: Washington State Patrol troopers said Monday that the hit-and-run suspect has been identified. Trooper Rick Johnson said further investigation is necessary before King County prosecutors decide whether the driver, a 42-year-old Puyallup woman, will be charged with a crime.

Original story: A pedestrian was killed Saturday in a reported hit-and-run accident on state Route 164 between 212th Avenue Southeast and 244th Avenue Southeast near Enumclaw.

The Washington State Patrol, in a release, said the pedestrian was walking westbound on state Route 164 early Saturday morning and was struck by a black SUV traveling eastbound on the road.

The vehicle continued eastbound without stopping, according to the report. The roadway was blocked for approximately four hours.

WSP identified the victim as Clifford Camanoprice, 22, of Buckley.

The driver’s identity remained unknown Saturday as the investigation continues.
