Death investigation underway in Tacoma after dead body found in Dome District

A dead body was found Monday morning in Tacoma’s Dome District, according to police. It’s unclear how the person died. An investigation is underway.

The remains were found on the side of the road in the 1300 block of East 25th Street, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Wendy Haddow said. She said police were called out at about 6:43 a.m. after Fire Department personnel arrived and requested a police response.

The person who died has not been identified. Haddow said investigators had not yet confirmed whether the remains belong to a man or woman.

Police weren’t yet able to say whether foul play was suspected. Haddow said the Pierce County Medical Examiner was called to the scene to investigate.
