Pedestrian killed crossing Tacoma’s Sixth Avenue

A driver whose car struck and killed a pedestrian crossing the street Friday wasn’t at fault for the accident, police say.

Carl Milford, 65, of Tacoma died early Saturday, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The accident happened just after 10 p.m. in the 6200 block of Sixth Avenue in Tacoma’s West End. Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the pedestrian apparently didn’t see the oncoming car before he stepped out into the street.
