All lanes on northbound Interstate 5 north of Fife reopened Saturday morning following a crash that caused a fire and blocked the freeway.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reported the incident at 5:45 a.m., according to a post on its official Twitter account.

The agency didn’t provide details of the crash, but the incident snarled traffic as first responders arrived on scene. Traffic had been getting through using the HOV lane.

Shortly before 8 a.m., WSDOT reported that two lanes had reopened, congestion was clearing and there were no major backups. The agency said that all lanes had reopened as of 10:20 a.m.
