Tacoma Rainiers in town playing Salt Lake City and Fresno this week
Join in America’s favorite pasttime right here with the Tacoma Rainiers. The Triple-A baseball team is in town all week playing the Salt Lake City Bees on Monday-Thursday at 7:05 p.m., then the Fresno Grizzlies with 7:05 p.m. games Friday and Saturday, 1:35 p.m. Sunday and 11:35 a.m. July 27. Tuesday and Thursday
Capitol Volkssport Club offers two walks in Olympia area
If you haven’t explored Millersylvania State Park just south of Olympia, then make plans to join the Capitol Volkssport Club for a Tuesday evening walk. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Tumwater Fred Meyer parking lot near Starbucks to carpool or 6 p.m. at Kitchen No. 3 in the park. A Discover Pass is required for parking in the park. The walk is free.
If you’re interested in enjoying the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, 100 Brown Farm Road, Olympia, the Volkssport Club is having a 10K walk with a 5K option beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday. Leave your pets home; they are not allowed in the refuge. Register at the Chevron Station, 10246 Martin Way E., then drive to the visitors center. Parking is $3, and the walk is rated easy.

Curran Apple Orchard Summer Concert Series features Barleywine Revue
2015 Curran Apple Orchard Summer Concert Series is in full swing with Thursday’s 6:30 p.m. performance featuring Barleywine Revue, a bluegrass band. The concerts are every Thursday through Aug. 20 with a variety of music and bands. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and get ready to enjoy an evening of music in the Curran Apple Orchard, 3920 Grandview Drive W., University Place. It is free and open to the public.
