A house fire in Bonney Lake killed one person over the weekend.

East Pierce Fire & Rescue reported on social-media platform X that firefighters were dispatched to a single-story house fire in the 18200 block of 95th Loop Street East near Sky Island Drive East shortly after 10 p.m Saturday. They said they received reports that one person was trapped inside the home.

Crews made efforts to fight the fire and locate the person who was trapped in the house. The fire was contained to the bedroom where it originated from, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue. Three adults and two children escaped, but one person died, according to firefighters.
