Person arrested for DUI after causing three car crash near Puyallup Friday night

Police have arrested a driver for driving under the influence after causing a three car crash Friday evening south of Puyallup, according to the Washington State Patrol.

No major injuries were reported, but the collision blocked all of northbound State Route 161 at 120th Street East traffic, according to state trooper and public information officer John Dattilo.

Two of the involved drivers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and the person arrested for DUI was released to the hospital for treatment, Dattilo told the News Tribune. The causing vehicle was traveling southbound on Meridian Avenue East prior to the crash, he said.

Dattilo said he did not have any names or additional details to share as of Saturday morning, around 9:30 a.m.
