Enjoy the blue sky while you can. Here’s when the rain is set to return to the area
Enjoy the last of the sun and warmer temperatures we’ve had in recent days, as the forecast calls for a foggy Sunday morning, then a return to rain in the coming week.
With sunny skies and a high edging toward 80 degrees forecast for today (Saturday) Sunday calls for another warm day hitting the low 70s, but with morning fog/afternoon sun.
The forecast from the National Weather Service shows cooler rainy days Monday through Wednesday, (mid- to upper-50s to low-60s for highs in the region). It will dry out briefly, with partly to mostly cloudy conditions Thursday and Friday with highs in the low- to mid-60s. Rain is forecast to return by the weekend and the following days, with highs in the low 60s.
The lows for each day hover between upper-40s and low-50s.
The Seattle NWS office predicted “Broken or tie record highs for all of (Western Washington) on Saturday. Not as warm Sunday. Rain returns Monday,” in a social media post.
Meanwhile, the Jackson Visitor Center webcam Saturday morning at Mount Rainier National Park’s Paradise area showed the early fall mountain colors on display, with the parking lot filling up and plenty of visitors catching the last of warm, clear days for the area.
