A man thought to be in his early 20s was killed Saturday evening in Lakewood after he crashed his motorcycle into a pick up truck, according to police.

The truck was recovered by police, but the driver is still at large, Sgt. Charles Porche said Sunday morning.

About 8 p.m., the Lakewood motorcyclist was headed north in the 9900 block of Bridgeport Way when the driver of a southbound pick up truck is alleged to have turned left in front him to enter a business parking lot.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The truck driver drove a short distance into the lot, then fled, leaving the truck behind, Porche said.

The northbound lanes of Bridgeport Way were closed following the crash. Police continue to investigate the incident, saying speed and a failure to yield were factors in the wreck, Porche said.
