Tacoma Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect who fatally shot a Kent man in May.
David Robinson, 36, was shot at a gathering on May 14 at the 1500 block of South 56th Street. Officers responded at about 9:18 p.m. for reports of gunfire and a man down. Police found Robinson shot on a sidewalk and started life-saving measures. Fire department personnel took Robinson to a hospital where he died from multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide, according to a May 18 News Tribune story.
According to surveillance video, an unknown male walked by Robinson while he was standing out by a nearby fence gate. The unknown male and Robinson exchanged words. Then, Robinson walked to a porch and the unknown male walked away eastbound, Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County wrote in a Facebook post.
Moments later, Robinson followed the unknown male, who was walking down the sidewalk. Out of camera view, the unknown male allegedly shot Robinson. The suspect was last seen walking past 5320 South Cushman Avenue, the post said.
Robinson’s friends witnessed the confrontation and shooting, but are allegedly not cooperating with the investigation, the post said.
