A 32-year-old Tacoma man died Friday in a two-car wreck on state Route 99 near Mill Creek in Snohomish County, according to the Washington State Patrol. Troopers said he collided head-on with another driver.

The Tacoma man was driving north on the highway at Lincoln Way when he reportedly lost control of his Honda Accord, crossed over median curbing and struck a southbound Kia Sorento SUV. In a news release, the State Patrol said the collision caused the Honda to roll.

He was the only occupant of the Honda. The man was declared dead at the scene, and he has not been publicly identified. The sole occupant of the Kia, a 32-year-old Snohomish man, was transported with injuries to a local hospital.

The crash was reported at 10:30 p.m. Troopers said state Route 99 was fully blocked while they investigated.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, troopers said. It’s unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
