- Salary: $70,896 - $110,112 annually
- Description: The Accountant II is responsible for accounting entries in various ledger accounts, state and federal grant accounting and preparing ad-hoc financial reports. The position is also responsible for recommending improvements in accounting policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The role provides professional accounting support in special accounting projects.
- Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, an additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree, two years of experience in private or public industry general and or cost accounting and familiarity with computerized accounting system as well as in-depth experience with Microsoft office products.
Flex Terminal Security Officer

- Description: The Flex Terminal Security Officer (TSO) is responsible for the protection of life and property throughout a designated terminal area. The proprietary security officer is charged with the safety, security and protection of terminal personnel, its stakeholders, and all properties in accordance with federal, state, local laws and regulations and terminal procedures.
- Requirements: A high school diploma or GED, two years of experience working in a role that is customer service focused and at least one year of experience as a security officer in private industry, military or applicable environment and a valid Washington State Driver License and Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
Journey Level Electrician (Equipment)

- Description: The journey level electrician is responsible for maintenance and repairs on a broad range of Port-owned equipment including container gantry cranes, straddle carriers, automobiles, and other powered equipment. Work includes troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, motors, PLCs, engines, drive train components, hydraulic systems, and other related items.
- Requirements: A minimum education is a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and trade school, related military or college-level training in the electrical field, a minimum of five years of experience performing a variety of skilled equipment electrical work, Washington State certificate as general journey level electrician (01), specialty electrician certificate in equipment repair (7E), or related master electrician certificate(s), and extensive knowledge and experience with drives and PLCs highly preferred. Must have First Aid/CPR training and must maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and/or CDL as required.
Project Manager I, Environmental

- Description: The Project Manager I, Environmental is part of the Remediation group that is responsible for managing projects that support the Port’s environmental policies, strategic plan, and business objectives. This person is responsible for ensuring the Port’s developments, assets management, operations, plans, initiatives, and routine activities comply with environmental laws and regulations and assisting with the development of environmental policies and programs.
- Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, environmental planning, resource management, geology or environmental engineering, five years of progressively responsible experience in positions requiring analytical ability, working knowledge of environmental laws and programs, and environmental science; public speaking, written communication, coordination, and troubleshooting, a relevant master’s degree may be substituted for up to two years of work experience.
Relief Terminal Security Officer

- Description: A relief terminal security officer is an unarmed proprietary security officer who is charged with the safety, security and protection of a designated terminal area’s personnel, stakeholders, and all properties in accordance with federal, state, local laws and regulations and terminal procedures.

Sr. Manager, Real Estate Leasing & Acquisition

- Description: The real estate leasing & acquisition senior manager is responsible for implementing the Real Estate property management, leasing acquisition/divestiture and property use of the Port of Tacoma’s current and future real estate portfolio. This person is also responsible for presenting analysis and transaction recommendations, to the Director of Real Estate, senior management, and the Board of Commissioners. The Sr. Manager, Real Estate Leasing & Acquisition is responsible for assisting in the Port of Tacoma’s economic development efforts. This includes recommendations to the Director, Real Estate regarding acquisition and development of properties that implement the Port of Tacoma’s strategic plan. This position will develop close ties with the Economic Development Board and key real estate market partners to advance the Port’s strategic job-creation goals.
- Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, finance, or related discipline, specific Real Estate course work or a Real Estate agent/broker license, a minimum of six years of increasingly responsible professional experience in real estate, facility and asset management, and sales in a commercial or industrial setting. An additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
