Tacoma Police reported a homicide investigation Saturday following a disturbance at a Tacoma residence, and a subsequent arrest.

Officers were dispatched to a Tacoma residence Saturday just after 4 a.m., in the 6200 block of South Cheyenne Street, in response to a reported family disturbance, police said Saturday in a media release.

According to the report, an unconscious adult female was found at the scene. Life-saving measures were started, and the woman was transported by Tacoma Fire Department EMTs to a local area hospital.

The woman, 47, later died at the hospital Saturday afternoon, police said.

Investigators developed probable cause for a male suspect in the case, who was later located in an east side Tacoma neighborhood, police reported.

The man, 55, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of murder. The case is being investigated as a homicide.
