A man was shot in the ankle late Friday or early Saturday morning, according to Tacoma police.

Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the 400 block of Sixth Avenue South, Officer Shelbie Boyd said on Sunday.

Police couldn’t find anyone at that address, but a K9 later found the victim at an area park, Boyd said.

Wright Park is just west of where the shooting took place.

The man they found had suffered a gunshot wound to his ankle, she said.

Details about the victim or a possible suspect were not immediately available.
