2 dead after aircraft flying to Tacoma crashes near Colorado border in Utah

Two people are dead after an aircraft traveling to the Tacoma Narrows Airport crashed in a remote area of Grand County, Utah on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

A chartered Hawker 900XP was flying to Tacoma from Grand Junction Regional Airport in Colorado before it crashed at around 10:50 a.m MST. The aircraft is a fixed wing multi-engine plane. A pilot and second in command were on board at the time, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies and emergency personnel were on the scene, the release said.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and provide updates, according to the FAA.

The next of kin will be notified before the names of the deceased will be released to the public.
