▪ Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

  • Description: The advanced registered nurse practitioner provides medical oversight to a team of mobile registered nurses and behavioral health crisis responders and works in a non-emergency operational capacity as part of a crisis response team aimed at providing appropriate and therapeutic services to those experiencing behavioral health crisis. This person will also focus on establishing operating protocols and best practices for crisis unit responders regarding behavioral and mental health crises, the identification and treatment/management of underlying medical conditions, and the prevention or further exacerbation of chronic illnesses.
  • Qualifications: A master’s degree from an advanced nursing education program accredited by a national nursing accreditation body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and five years of experience in acute care (ED, ICU, Internal Medicine).

▪ Assistant Retirement Director

  • Department: Retirement
  • Salary: $133,328.00 - $187,720.00, annually

  • Description: Contribute to the day-to-day management and support of TERS, focusing on financial reporting, investment knowledge, budgeting, and operational excellence. This role serves in an acting capacity for the director when required.
  • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or directly related field, 10 years of public or private pension system management including prior supervisory, managerial and/or subject-matter expert experience.

▪ Behavioral Health Crisis Responder

  • Description: The Behavioral Health Crisis Responder is part of a behavioral health alternative response team that aims to reduce the frequency of behavioral health crises routed through the 911 Emergency Medical Service (EMS) system. Duties will include telephonic and in-person screening, assessments, and person-centered case management and crisis intervention to treat broad array of behavioral health/mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Qualifications: A Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling or other behavioral health related field or a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Arts or above education required, five years of experience in mental health and substance use counseling.

▪ CAISO Markets Senior Analyst

  • Department: Power
  • Salary: $115,377.60 - $162,427.20, annually

  • Description: This position is responsible for supporting Tacoma Power’s participation in California Independent System Operator (CAISO) markets including the Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) by validating and analyzing resource meter data and market financial settlements, evaluating and enhancing participating resource bidding strategies and dispatch, troubleshooting and resolving CAISO Market back-office related issues.
  • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or directly related field. A minimum of four years of experience in statistical analysis, data modeling or data analytics including one year prior lead or supervisory experience.

▪ Communications Systems Technician II

  • Description: The Communications Tech II performs skilled technical duties in the installation, repair, and maintenance of Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) and City of Tacoma (COT) communications systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Qualifications: A combination of four years’ of work experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic communications equipment, RF technology or computer networking or two years’ of work experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic communications equipment and an Associate’s degree or a vocational college certificate of completion in communications electronics, RF technology or computer networking.

  • Department: Information technology
  • Salary: $165,630.40 - $233,188.80, annually

▪ Power Energy Portfolio Analyst, Principal

▪ SAP Division Manager - Business Automation

  • Department: Information Technology
  • Salary: $165,630.40 - $233,188.80, annually

  • Description: Responsible for the strategic planning, budgeting, implementation, and operation of a robust portfolio of systems with core responsibilities surrounding SAP and systems tightly integrated with SAP. Participate in enterprise governance, acquire a strong knowledge of business operations and needs, collaborate and establish relationships with all stakeholders involved in delivering projects and maintaining systems.
  • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in information technology or directly related field, a minimum of seven years in progressively responsible information technology experience in area of assignment including two years prior as supervisor or manager in information technology. Some assignments may require a background check.

▪ Traffic Engineer- Planning/Professional (Civil Engineer, PE- Transportation Division

  • Salary: $115,377.60 - $162,427.20, annually

  • Description: Perform professional and technical engineering and planning duties in support of permitting for private and public development.
