After working with the stabbing victim, Tacoma Police on Sunday released a sketch of the man believed to have attacked the woman at Point Defiance Park earlier this month.

About 1 p.m. Feb. 10, the woman was walking on Spine Trail, sometimes referred to as the light-blue trail, when police say a man attacked the woman, pinned her to the ground and repeatedly stabbed her. Witnesses intervened and the man ran off toward the Owen Beach parking lot, The News Tribune reported.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, according to the newspaper.

The man is thought to be in his 20s or 30s. He has a thin build and stands about 5-foot-8. The man was last seen wearing dark clothing. Tacoma police have also asked residents to review their dashboard camera video images.

“We ask those with dash-cameras who were in the park, either the day of, or in the days leading up to the assault, review their camera footage in the event someone who matches the suspect description was recorded,” Tacoma Police Department spokesman detective William Muse said in an email to the News Tribune.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to someone being arrested and charged. Tips can be sent to tpcrimestoppers.com or 1-800-222-8477.
