Motorcyclist killed after crashing into vehicle on state Route 7 in Parkland

An Auburn motorcyclist was killed in Parkland on Wednesday after he crashed into a Nissan Rouge carrying three people.

Justo E. Jorge, 24, was driving north on state Route 7 approaching Garfield Street South in one of two lanes close to 4 p.m. The Nissan Rouge was in the center turn lane, turning left and crossing northbound state Route 7 at Garfield Street South, when the motorcycle struck it, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Both vehicles came to a rest in the northbound state Route 7 lanes. The roadway was partially blocked for three hours and 20 minutes, the release said.

Jorge died at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was injured and taken to the hospital. The two passengers were not injured. Both the motorcycle and the Nissan were totaled, the release said.

Speed has been determined as the cause of the crash. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the release said.
