A 17-year-old girl died following a reported shooting in Tacoma Saturday evening, and police are treating the incident as a homicide.
The initial dispatch call came at 8:20 p.m., according to a statement from Tacoma Police. Officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1800 block of South 15th Street.
Police learned the 17-year-old victim, suffering from a gunshot wound, was transported to a local hospital, where she died, the department statement said.
Detectives and crime scene analysts have responded to the scene. Police said there was no threat to the public. No further information was immediately available.
