Pierce County child found after kidnapping; suspect vehicle located at Tumwater store

A man and woman are in custody and a 4-year-old Pierce County child has been reunited with their legal guardian, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office and Tumwater police assisted the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department with the case Friday evening. The Olympian has reached out to a Pierce County official for more information.

About 6 p.m., Thurston County law enforcement were alerted to the missing child. Deputies later found the suspect vehicle at a Walmart on Littlerock Road in Tumwater.

“A short time later, law enforcement located both suspects and the child, who did not appear to be harmed,” a Thurston County official said in a social media post.

The man and woman are accused of burglary domestic violence, kidnapping domestic violence and assault domestic violence, according to the post.
