It’s start of construction season in Pierce County. Will your street see improvements?
The Pierce County Council unanimously approved multiple street lighting, traffic calming and neighborhood safety projects at its meeting May 7. Here’s a breakdown of improvements coming to unincorporated Pierce County by Council District. Some areas of Pierce County will be seeing more improvements than others.
Funding for the projects comes from the county’s Public Works Construction Fund as set forth in the 2024-2025 biennial budget, which appropriated up to $150,000 for street lighting and other neighborhood safety improvements in unincorporated Pierce County this year.
Pierce County is also planning to purchase two additional speed-feedback signs, which tell drivers how fast they’re driving.
