A 22-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of second-degree murder after he allegedly shot a man, 23, who died at a Bonney Lake address Saturday night, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

A 24-year-old man at the scene also suffered a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening, deputies say. The suspect also suffered a graze wound and was taken to an area hospital.

About 7:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 11100 block of 166th Avenue East in Bonney Lake. Deputies say an argument between roommates — the 22-year-old man and the 23-year-old man — had erupted into a shooting.

The 24-year-old man does not live at that home, according to deputies.

Deputies arrived on scene and detained the suspect, who had already put his gun away, and located the 23-year-old man inside the home who had been shot several times.

Fire crews administered first aid, but the victim died at the scene, according to deputies.

Once the 22-year-old man has been medically cleared he will be booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of the murder charge.
