A man attempting to cross Pacific Avenue in Parkland was struck and injured by a car Monday afternoon, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The victim, 38, was not using a crosswalk when he was hit by a Lincoln sedan around 2:40 p.m., according to WSP spokesperson Trooper John Dattilo. The collision occurred near 106th Street South.

The man was alert and answering questions while being transported to a local hospital, Dattilo said.

Both southbound lanes were blocked by the accident, but southbound traffic was using the center lane to get through the scene, he said. Northbound lanes are open.

The Lincoln was northbound when it hit the man, Dattilo said. The driver remained on the scene and is coopering with the WSP as it conducts an investigation.
