One person died Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash in the area of South 21st Street and Pacific Avenue in Tacoma, authorities said.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Tacoma Police Department said it was investigating the crash. Following the wreck, South 21st Street was closed between Pacific Avenue and Jefferson Street, reopening around 11:30 a.m.

The crash was reported shortly before 6 a.m., according to the Tacoma Fire Department, which placed the wreck one street west of Pacific Avenue at Commerce Street.

Tacoma Public Utilities’ power outage map showed that six customers around 9 a.m. were without power in the area but the issue was resolved by Saturday afternoon. The outage was attributed to a vehicle damaging equipment.
