3-year-old seriously injured after being hit by vehicle in Tacoma. Driver cooperating

A 3-year-old child suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Tacoma, police say.

The child emerged between two parked cars and in the 3100 block of South Madison Street at about 1:45 p.m. Monday when a driver accidentally struck him. The driver showed no signs of impairment, Tacoma Police Department detective William Muse told The News Tribune.

The child was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver cooperated with the investigation, Muse said.
