A vehicle struck a woman who was crossing the street in Parkland on Tuesday, according to state troopers.

Troopers were dispatched at 12:21 p.m. to southbound state Route 7 at 134th Street South. Witnesses said that lights were flashing above the crosswalk when the woman was walking, according to Washington State Patrol trooper John Dattilo.

A vehicle struck the woman. She sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital, Dattilo said.

Dattilo said it is unknown as to why the driver struck the woman. DUI was ruled out. An investigation to determine if there is enough evidence to charge the driver is ongoing.
